My Uncle Kelby Rocks! He sent me this rockin' bib for Christmas. Here I am opening presents at my Great Aunt and Uncle Keyports for Christmas this past Saturday. I had a lot of fun with my cousin Jaxson. He's almost exactly one year older than me.
Here's Cousin Jaxon again - isn't he a cutie?Yay! Naked time! I love naked time! Its my second favorite thing next to eating. (I peed on mom about 30 seconds after this picture was taken. Luckily, it all got on mom and not on the couch.)
Yummy - butterfly.
I'm so happy!

Merry Christmas!
Thank you to all of our friends and family for making this a special Christmas for our little Evan. We have many more Christmases to come - and next year when Evan knows what "Christmas" is it will be even more fun!
Evan's encounter with the talking Santa at Great-Grandma Nelson's house. He wasn't quite sure what to think of him...
No! Don't eat the bow! It's probably made in China -
we don't want you to get lead poisoning.
Evan checking our Grandma Irvin's new snowglobe.
(It doesn't actually glow - the camera refracted the light.)
Ah-HA! Momma caught Evan red-handed trying to take a swig of Grandpa's beer!
Daddy was making Evan laugh - after five months of almost no pictures of Evan laughing or smiling we got about 15 in a row of him laughing his head off at his Daddy. It was so cute!
Evan, if your hungry Mommy has food -
you don't have to eat your socks.

HOORAY!
Our "Comments" are
finally turned on!
After eight million (eight million and one, actually) emails to the Blogger staff they finally got it to work. Its a Christmas miracle!
I just can't get enough of this kid!
Here's a great picture that Jeremy took of Evan in his new Exersaucer. He loves it!

And here he is giving Mom one of his "special kisses" that he just learned how to do. Sometimes he actually kisses you with a "smack" and other times he just licks your face. This was a wet one.

Taking a snooze next to dad on the couch. Mom thinks its cute how I cross my feet when I sleep.
Mom gave Dad a haircut! Here's Dad "before..."

And here's Dad "after!"
I got an Exersaucer today! Since I'm such an active little guy mom and dad thought it would be fun to get me a activity station like I have at Grandma and Grandpa Irvin's. I loved it! I had so much fun today that I wore myself out and slept all afternoon. Yum, plastic trees are tasty.

Me and my saucer.

Bath Time!

"Rubber Ducky, you're the one,
You make bath time so much fun!"
Smiling at Daddy.
Let's get serious for a minute - I need my hair washed.
I smeared rice cereal in it and now it's sticky. Help me!
Splash!

Mmmm...delicious. I love having duck for dinner.

She weighed in at 7lbs, 5 oz and was 19.5 inches long

Its another Monday night and we have big news...
Evan slept from 11:45pm to 4am last night! That's the most consecutive sleep mom has gotten in three months! She was really excited today. We'll see how tonight goes. Hopefully it wasn't just a "fluke," but we're not holding our breath.
Evan all suited up to go to Grandma's. Yep - we live in Minnesota.

Will someone please tell Evan that he's only 4 1/2 months old? These are 12 month old size pj's. Insane. I can't believe how big he is!

"Oooh - shiny things on a prickly green thing - I wanna touch it!"

Its a Winter Wonderland outside! Break out the shovels...

23 Days 'till Christmas! It's exciting that this will be Evan's first Christmas, although he won't quite be old enough to enjoy it yet. Next year should be loads of fun...I already have toys picked out for his stocking (no, I haven't bought them yet, I'm not that neurotic.) I think he might just get a savings bond this year, and maybe a "first Christmas" ornament...and some cute pj's. The cute pj's are more for mommy - half the fun of having a little baby is getting to buy cute little outfits! Thanks to some generous friends and relatives that already have little ones of their own we haven't had to buy many outfits for him, so its always fun to pick something special out.

p.s. Nobody better make fun of Jeremy for getting his picture taken with a Santa hat. He was mad enough that I made him take a break from football Sunday to get a family picture taken, let alone that I made him wear the hat.

Oh, and I just happened to catch Jonas singing Christmas Carols in time to snap a photo:

"FA-LA-LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA-LA!"

My first meal!

Evan had his first bite of rice cereal tonight! He loved it. He ate about ten spoonfuls and opened his mouth big and wide for each bite. He got so excited at one point that he grabbed the spoonful of cereal and shoved it in his own mouth. It was too cute. Click below for a short video of the messy fun.

Evan weighed-in today at a whopping 17 lbs, 3 oz! He is 26 inches long and Dr. Heilman says he is a big, healthy boy. He was very vocal and had a good time getting naked for his 4 mo. check-up today (as I type this he is sitting in his swing happily "yelling" at the fish tank.) The good doctor also told us that it is possible that the scar on the back of his head could be from the heart monitor that they screw into babies' heads during labor. Or, it could be from the pokey-thingy that they use to break your water...who knows. All I know is that all of his baby hair has fallen out except for around that little scar, so it looks like he has a "rat-tail" in the back.

Here's Evan's "tail" of hair that never fell out around his scar. Poor kid.

The countdown to Christmas has begun

Ho, Ho, Ho! Wait, that's not a reindeer...that's Jonas the raindog!
Who turned out the lights?Evan playing with some toys. This was the only picture I snapped where he arms and legs weren't flailing everywhere.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Happy Thanksgiving from the Nelsons
Coochi-coochi-coo! Mommas gonna tickle you!
Evan in his big bear snowsuit. He is so stinkin' cute! It's got little ears and even has a little tail on the backside.
I was only happy for a minute...then I turned into "grumpy bear."
Yay! Its "Naked Time!" I LOVE naked time...

Well, its been a week or so since we last blogged - its been a bit crazy around here. Evan has had a few tummy troubles that we can't quite figure out and the siding on the house is slowly coming along. The good part about the crew going slow is that they are doing a really nice job. Because Bruce did such a good job siding the house solo the first time around, the siding crew actually hired him on to help them out with the difficult wrapping job.

On a bad note, Bruce had an accident today involving the roof and a ladder. He's currently in surgery at the hospital to repair a shattered ankle. He will probably be coming out of it with a pin and a plate (and some pain killers, I'm guessing) but I guess we are all lucky that he didn't break his neck or something more serious. He fell from our roof onto our deck, and since he was in a bit of shock we're not quite sure yet how it all happened. We are just glad that he is okay.
Here is Evan after taking his colic medicine - it has activated charcoal in it which makes it black, and consequently stains everything it touches black, including Evan's lips.

The front of our house - almost complete!

Thanks to Grandma Novek for my cute outfit!

The siders are finally here! Here is the house...beautiful, isn't it?
