Yummmm....PEAS! I love any food you put in front of my mouth. My favorite is avocado but I also like apples, pears, carrots, green beans, bananas, squash, prunes and sweet potatoes. I stole a few broccoli sprouts out of mom's sandwich today while she was trying to eat. I ate them before she could yank them away. Nummy.
Feed me FASTER! For anyone who has been at our house during dinner time for Evan, I'm sure you've heard the frustrated "grunting" that goes along with this face. He gets pretty impatient if you take too long loading up his spoon.

He he he - I made a mess!

After dinner comes the bath! We like to make a mess with our food, so a bath afterwards is now part of the regular routine. If you look closely you can see my two front teeth!

Peek-A-Boo!

Grrr...I like to chew on plastic. This face also comes equipped with its own noise. It sounds like Jonas when he's growling.

And last but not least - me and my rubber ducky. Wait - don't we already have a bath photo like this posted? Yep. We do, but Mom thinks its cute enough to post another one.

Goodnight, all. Evan didn't sleep well again last night, and consequently neither did I. The little monster, I mean, "munchkin" is in bed, so I am off to read a book before I fall asl... "zzzzzzzz..."

Check out my shades, man! I was already awesomely cool, but these are the icing on the cake.

I look so sweet and innocent, don't I?
Here is what Jonas looks like every time Evan cries. He gets scared. Its pretty funny, actually.

Check out my neck rolls - pretty good, huh? I've been workin' on 'em. Yep, I'm a beefcake.

The lazy cats all snuggled up in a ball on the warm side of the couch, as usual. Every time you get up they sneak in and steal your spot on the couch. Its like they have a special kind of "warm furniture" radar or something. (In our house its more like furr-niture.)

Why I don't drink milk...

Emily's soapbox for the night: Happy Cows.

So, "Happy cows come from California?" I don't think so.

I am probably the only one I know of that actually subscribes to the Human Society E-mail Newsletter, but now that its in the national news everyone should be aware of the "Downer" cows that are being forced into pens by forklifts, water hoses and electric cattle prods because they are too sick to walk on their own. SAD. And the best part? The FDA had NO IDEA because they don't pay attention and they don't care. The Humane Society secretly taped these slaughterhouses in action and handed the footage over to the FDA.

Now the meat is being recalled, but not for the cow's sake. The FDA only has the "Downer" rule to prevent the spread of mad-cow disease, not for the cow's sake. They could care less how these poor animals are treated. Not to mention that stressed cows produce more PUSS in their milk than happy cows. (click here for more info) You want happy cows? BUY LOCAL. Or better yet - BUY SOY MILK!

Yay! We finally got out of the house! It has been a few weeks since we have been able to leave (outside of going to work), what with us all being sick and then it being so cold. So, Friday evening Grandma Barb came over to watch her grandson while Jeremy and I went to "Defending the Caveman" with the Gohams. It was nice to get out of the house and have a nice conversation with adults! Of course, we love staying home with Evan, but it is nice to go out every once in a while and pretend we still have a solcial life once in a while. Yesterday Evan's Grandpa Nelson, Aunt Karla and Great-Grandma Nelson came over to see him for a while. He got a kick out of Great-Grandma blowing kisses on his tummy and was a playful little guy.

Today I am going to a play with my pal, Becky, at 3pm. I feel like such a social butterfly this weekend! I can't wait until Spring when we can go lots of places like to zoo and play in the backyard. The warm weather can't come soon enough, as far as I'm concerned. I would move to a warmer climate, but seeing as I married a polar bear I think that's out of the question.

Oh, boy! Thanks to Aunt Susie for this entertaining video.

And for all of you moms out there, here is a little something. Turn up your volume and enjoy. It lasts about three minutes. This one is from Aunt Kay. (My Aunts have great senses of humor.)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello! Evan here. Its been an exciting week. I now have TWO bottom teeth (and mom has the bruises to show for it.) Plus, I learned how to "scoot" across the floor this week! When mom sets me down I see how far I can scoot before she comes to get me. While she was writing this blog I scooted myself four feet away from where she sat me. I like to roll around and push myself around backwards while on my belly. It’s great fun. I think I might start crawling any day now!
This photo may not seem very interesting, but what Evan is trying to do was fascinating to me! He stuck his left thumb through the hole in his wooden block, and he's trying to pick it up with his other hand! It was so funny. He couldn't understand why it wouldn't come out!
And here is Evan munching on a homemade teething biscuit. Yum. They don't actually taste very good. It's just quinoa, flax, apple juice and baby cereal baked until its as hard as a rock. Oh, and a fun fact - I cut them into the shape of doggy biscuits. Hehehe...

This short video is of Evan laughing at me. I was making a funny noise and he thought it was funny.

I was trying to get a video of Evan's new tooth, but he decided to eat the camera instead.

Here's one of Augie playing in the bathtub. Every time you use the bathroom he races in to play. Sometimes you can hear him in there in the dark, playing by himself...what an odd cat. he likes to "dig" in the corner - maybe he thinks he can get out of the house through the bottom of the tub. Who knows?

Here is a video of Evan being tossed in the air by his Daddy! He always belly-laughs when Dad tosses him high.

Here is a short video of Evan "talking." His new phrases are "Ba-ba-ba-ba" and "Um-um-um-um." He also like to get your attention by shouting "Hey!" at you (or the cats, or the dog, really whoever is walking by at the moment...) In this video he "talks" for a few seconds, yells at me, and then laughs. A little of everything all rolled into one. I have some more great video of him from this past week, but the camera battery died when I tried to upload it (and as usual I can't find the AC adaptor) so it will have to wait.

For those of you that are wondering, we temporarily fixed the CO problem in the basement. The permanent fix will have to wait until spring when the ground thaws. I called the clinic but they told me that even if Evan did have CO poisoning there was nothing they can do, so there was no point in bringing him in (they were very reassuring to a concerned mother, let me tell you...um, not really.)

Anyway, Evan is calling for me, so I will have to post more later. Happy Saturday and yay for -40 below zero. Gotta love that Minnesota wind chill.
