At the Pumpkin Patch

We went to Happ-E-Hill at Nesbitt's this weekend to pick out some pumpkins and have a little fall fun. We came prepared with big coats and mittens, but it actually turned out to be a fairly nice day.

Happ-E-Hill in 2008.

One year later and a half a foot taller (and 20 degrees colder!)

Getting the full farm experience.

And of course, the 'coup de grace' - the Happ-E-Hill Express! We looked up the nursery the night before on the Internet, and Evan spotted the choo-choo right away. He actually seemed to understand when I explained that we could go ride on it after the sun went night-night and woke up again.

Good think Evan isn't allergic to hay - he slid into a huge pile at the bottom of this slide!

A video of Evan riding his first horse.

A good pic of the boys.
Evan picking out his pumpkin.

I asked Evan to "show me a happy face."

Four little punkins'. One wouldn't look at the camera.

After the pumpkins went under the knife.

Beautiful Sunset

Its a good day when you can witness something this beautiful in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

Well, well...what a month it's been! Our computer is on the fritz again, and therefore I have not been able to get any of my pictures since September 7th off of my camera...until tonight! The stars must be aligned, because it finally worked!

It has been a rough month for us at the Nelson household - Evan has been sick twice (most likely attributed to his cutting molars left and right) and we have had two sick kitties. Baxter has a UTI and our poor special kitty, Rico, most likely has a tumor. He goes in for kitty surgery on the 27th.

Today we visited the RW Fire Dept. open house. Evan met Sparky the Dalmatian, sat in a fire truck, and went down a huge inflatable slide. Despite the fact that it was FREEZING out we had a good time.

Yesterday we took a family hike up on Memorial Bluff. We woke up to snow on the ground, so the sun finally coming out was a welcome sight.Last weekend we painted pumpkins at Sargent's Nursery. Evan bustled through the kiddie corn maze and had fun getting messy. He has just started drawing people - a.k.a. circles with "eyes" - the teal blue circles you see on the left of the "E" were the "eyes" he gave this pumpkin. How cute!Beth, DJ, Evan and I caught the fun in Lake City last weekend at Applefest (I think that's what is was called. There are too many "fests" around here to keep track.) Evan and DJ played for hours in an inflatable obstacle course together.

To celebrate for Grandma Barb's birthday we paid a visit to Pepin Heights Apple Orchard and went out to eat in Lake City. It was great to see all the wonderful ladies from the Walter's clan, and we also made a pit stop at the cemetery to collect the summer urns. Evan had lots of fun horsing around with Grandma at the cemetery - if any of you know the Walter gals you know they manage to have fun ANYWHERE they go! Evan getting the boat ready for a spin...probably the last one for the year! This was three weeks ago already. Can you hear Jonas smiling? He used to be afraid of riding in boats, but over the summer he learned to love it!CAUTION: Men at Work. In true Dahl fashion, Noah reinforced his sand castle with sticks so it wouldn't cave to the waves. Jonas taking a breather from a busy day at the beach. Some fun shots that I took. Sometimes I like to pretend that I'm a photographer. Probably the last summer shot of the year... C'est la vi.

I promise I am not being neglectful of this blog - it's just that our computer is crashing (slowly...) and I can't get any of the photos off of my camera and onto our computer. So, I have nothing to post to the blog. Sorry everyone!
