My first meal!

Evan had his first bite of rice cereal tonight! He loved it. He ate about ten spoonfuls and opened his mouth big and wide for each bite. He got so excited at one point that he grabbed the spoonful of cereal and shoved it in his own mouth. It was too cute. Click below for a short video of the messy fun.

Evan weighed-in today at a whopping 17 lbs, 3 oz! He is 26 inches long and Dr. Heilman says he is a big, healthy boy. He was very vocal and had a good time getting naked for his 4 mo. check-up today (as I type this he is sitting in his swing happily "yelling" at the fish tank.) The good doctor also told us that it is possible that the scar on the back of his head could be from the heart monitor that they screw into babies' heads during labor. Or, it could be from the pokey-thingy that they use to break your water...who knows. All I know is that all of his baby hair has fallen out except for around that little scar, so it looks like he has a "rat-tail" in the back.

Here's Evan's "tail" of hair that never fell out around his scar. Poor kid.

The countdown to Christmas has begun

Ho, Ho, Ho! Wait, that's not a reindeer...that's Jonas the raindog!
Who turned out the lights?Evan playing with some toys. This was the only picture I snapped where he arms and legs weren't flailing everywhere.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Happy Thanksgiving from the Nelsons
Coochi-coochi-coo! Mommas gonna tickle you!
Evan in his big bear snowsuit. He is so stinkin' cute! It's got little ears and even has a little tail on the backside.
I was only happy for a minute...then I turned into "grumpy bear."
Yay! Its "Naked Time!" I LOVE naked time...

Well, its been a week or so since we last blogged - its been a bit crazy around here. Evan has had a few tummy troubles that we can't quite figure out and the siding on the house is slowly coming along. The good part about the crew going slow is that they are doing a really nice job. Because Bruce did such a good job siding the house solo the first time around, the siding crew actually hired him on to help them out with the difficult wrapping job.

On a bad note, Bruce had an accident today involving the roof and a ladder. He's currently in surgery at the hospital to repair a shattered ankle. He will probably be coming out of it with a pin and a plate (and some pain killers, I'm guessing) but I guess we are all lucky that he didn't break his neck or something more serious. He fell from our roof onto our deck, and since he was in a bit of shock we're not quite sure yet how it all happened. We are just glad that he is okay.
Here is Evan after taking his colic medicine - it has activated charcoal in it which makes it black, and consequently stains everything it touches black, including Evan's lips.

The front of our house - almost complete!
