So...I decided to switch up our blog a bit. We are without our digital camera for at least a week (its in the shop) so I thought I would play around a bit with our background. My new favorite part? The "Useless Fact of the Day" section on the bottom left. For those of you that need a little break from work I also added the classic Pac-Man game. Have fun.
In the meantime, I thought I would share a cute story:
On Friday night around 3am, Baxter the cat jumped up on the family bed and in his usual fashion uttered a long "me-ooooow." Evan, from a dead sleep and without opening his eyes softly whispered "hi kitty." It was the cutest thing ever. I'm not actually sure that Evan woke up, I think the cats just have him trained to speak.
So, still no "mommy" or "daddy," but thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Irvin, Evan can now say "woof, woof!" (Its in a book they read to him.) I think we have another animal lover in our midst.

Is that...parsley?
Yes. It is. And its also a photo of five caterpillars! Can you find all five? They look like this:
He climbs on everything! We try not to encourage it, but I have to admit, sometimes I am impressed. Disclaimer: No Evans were harmed in the taking of this photo. Seriously, normally I would grab him right away instead of snapping a photo, but the camera was right there and this is such a common occurrence I thought we needed at least one snapshot for the baby book.
I came home today and happen to notice my parsley plant looked a little "funny." I snapped a few photos of these little fellas and went in to look them up on the Internet (isn't technology fun?) Turns out they are "Swallowtail" Caterpillars, eat parsley and dill, and grow up to look like this:
You may begin your "oooh, ahhhh" noises now.
This past Sunday we visited the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee with a few friends. We had a great time and ate some great food.
Evan peeking through the fence at the festival (and Katie in the background.) Like most of us, Katie tries to avoid photos at all costs, but I GOT HER!
Noah suiting up for some high-flying action! What a brave little man - it was like reverse bungee jumping on a trampoline. I'm not sure what it was actually called, all I know is that is cost Noah $5, but you couldn't pay me $500 to do it...

Before I forget...
My pal Liz sent me these photos from High School (9th grade maybe?) I got such a kick out of them I thought I would share the joy. What perfect timing - I am planning a Vintage Fashion Show fundraiser for work in October! Maybe we'll have to use these on our ad posters (hahaha, just kidding Liz!)
Good times, good times. Thanks for the great memories, Liz!

Congratulations Annie and Derek (and Emma!)
JONATHAN HENRY
was born this morning at 3:38am
Weighing in at 9 lbs. 7 oz.
and 21 inches long
Isn't he adorable!? I even got to hold him!
Proud Daddy Derek and his new baby boy!
Poor Annie had a hard, long delivery, and will hopefully get some rest tonight. Congratulations Neumann Family of Four!
And, of course, Evan was wild as usual. He had fun running and yelling in the hospital hallways. He wanted to "peek" in all of the rooms, so Daddy had to run interference.
Last weekend Evan played with Brook and Devron at Grandma and Grandpa Irvin's house. They all had a good time with the pool and squirt bottles.
More classic Evan bath photos. He has such a great time in the bath - and I always have my camera ready, just in case!
